There is a defined formula for how far below the market your short strike must be. If the math doesn't work, you don't trade. The rule protects you from chasing bad setups.
Position sizing is not a judgment call. The system tells you exactly how many contracts to trade based on your account size. No more, no less.
Once the trade is placed, the work is done. The system tells you when — and only when — to take action before expiration. Most days, you do nothing.

The Founder
I started trading in 1998 with a Wade Cook book and a VHS tape. My first profitable trade — a 4× return — happened in Kosovo in 2002. The seed money came from a Bose speaker system that wouldn't work on German 220V power. I returned it and put the $1,000 into the market.
I've traded through deployments to Bosnia and Kosovo, through tours in Korea and Germany, and through 28 years of Army service that taught me one thing above all: discipline isn't a personality trait. It's a system.
The Spread Room exists because people kept asking me how I trade. I built the system first. The community came after. Every rule you'll learn here is something I follow with real money, every trading day.
